Your Wedding

Goosebumps swing band have ten years of experience performing at weddings. From contacting us leading up to your wedding through to performing for you on your big day, our experience allows us to be as professional off stage as we are entertaining on stage.

Weddings

Goosebumps perform at many weddings each year and our varied set list ensures that all of your guests, irrespective of age, will be kept thoroughly entertained all night. There is something inherently danceable with swing and jive music, whether it be from the irresistible swingy rhythms from the drums, the unmistakable sound of the double bass or the classic tones of the saxophone - swing and jive music provides a fun and sophisticated alternative to the run-of-the-mill wedding band and always ensures that the dance floor is kept full all night! To add some extra variety, we can carefully mix in some funk and soul songs to really provide the ultimate wedding reception party.Goosebumps Performing At A Wedding

Music tailored specifically for you:

In addition to being the evening entertainment, we can also provide you with a duo consisting of vocals and acoustic guitar or a trio that is made up of vocals, guitar and double bass or saxophone that will play a blend of soft jazz standards and slow ballads and is ideal for the wedding breakfast. We ensure that the volume is kept strictly to background levels so that you and your guests can talk comfortably while creating the perfect atmosphere. We will typically play 2 x 45 minute sets on top of the 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 that the full band will play later on in the evening. Simply use the contact form and request a quote for the additional option of the duo or trio.

In between sets:

For no additional cost, we can play pre-recorded music in between our sets and for up to an hour afterwards to keep the wedding reception partying all night. We use special software that automatically blends our playlists seamlessly so when one track is coming to an end, the next track will start to fade in, ensuring that there are no awkward gaps or silences between each song, just like a DJ would do. The playlists can be soul, disco, modern chart, swing, jazz - whatever mood is required! We are also more than happy to play your own iPod playlist through our sound system which is a great way for you to hear your own favourite songs.

The Venue:

Goosebumps have performed at a wide variety of wedding venues, from 16th century grandeur Manor Houses, elaborately-decorated marquees to teepees and even a yurt. Wherever it is, we can pitch up with our instruments as long as there is an electricity socket, some adequate ground protection and overhead covering to protect us and our equipment from the elements.

Many wedding venues are required to have sound limiters to ensure that music isn't turned up to number 11 all night resulting in some very unhappy and sleep-deprived neighbours. We are very adept at performing within the volume limit restrictions and pride ourselves on not being an overly-loud band, believing that it is far more musical to play at a comfortable level to draw an audience to the dance floor rather than pushing them to the back of the room with excessive levels of noise. While on the subject of sound, we are very particular about the equipment that we use - from our very high-quality instruments to the PAT tested top-spec. professional PA speakers, amplifiers, monitors, microphones and even high-grade cabling - you can rest assured that we create a crisp, clear and very balanced sound throughout our performance - something that many wedding guests have commended us on at previous bookings.

Our Unique Set List:

In Goosebumps, we pride ourselves on being a little bit different and unique and our song list is no exception - it offers a break from the usual stuff that you hear most bands performing and we know from ten years of experience that the dance floor will remain full when we kick into Glenn Miller's classic 'In The Mood' or Jackie Wilson's 'Reet Petite' - they are timeless songs that everybody knows but very seldom do you actually hear a live band performing them.

Another floor-filler is '(You Never Can Tell) C'est La Vie' - check out our live rendition of this Chuck Berry number and start practising your John Travolta and Uma Thurman dance moves, like that classic dance scene in Pulp Fiction!

Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick - Goosebumps

It's Funky Time!

We have a whole host of funky tunes available to add some extra variety to our set. From Stevie Wonder's 1976 tribute to Duke Ellington "Sir Duke" to  the mighty James Brown and his 1964 classic "I Feel Good" we like to keep that dance floor packed right up to the very end. Check out our version of by Ian Dury and the Blockheads song "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick" - another tune that not many other bands tackle and yet it's a number that people seem to immediately recognise and love.

Don't just take our word for it!
